Polymath Kitchen

Polymath Kitchen is a slow cooking club for children. It gives children who love cooking the chance to taste real food, and at the same time the chance to cook it themselves and enjoy it together with gratitude. We take part in the Slow Food movement in a way that is only possible in Iwate, a place blessed with the real thing.

What Is Polymath Kitchen?

Polymath Kitchen is a place where children who love cooking research, through hands-on practice, how to make healthy home-cooked meals. It is also a place where children discover what real food is, and where they learn about nature, culture, and the world through cooking. Put simply, it is a cooking club where children learn the essence of slow food using all five senses.

What Is the Slow Food Movement?

The Slow Food movement is a worldwide social movement that protects traditional local food cultures, ingredients, and local production for local consumption, and promotes sustainable ways of eating. “Good, clean, and fair”: choosing food that tastes good and is of good quality (Good), that does not pollute the environment (Clean), and whose producers receive fair recognition and fair pay (Fair). We deeply share the ideals of the Slow Food movement.
